Alpha 4 took many months to develop, much longer than we planned. However, the result was worth it – look at how much new was included in the update. You can see most of it in this video, and below we will tell you about everything in detail.
The first thing you’ll probably notice is the updated graphics:
- We have completely reworked the lighting system: starship rooms are now filled with different light sources, and starship hulls are illuminated by star rays and engine nozzles.
- The characters have many new animations, and their movements have become smoother.
- The path your character follows is now visualized.
The Reborn service has been significantly modernized:
- Thanks to new animations, characters now able to carry bodies realistically.
- Currently, bodies are manufactured using a specialized device. When a place in a tank is free, a worker brings biomaterial into this device and it prints a new body.
- Now your character can die, for example, in a fight with an arachnid. After that, you can use the service again and be reborn.
- A new device will soon appear that allows to dispose of various objects, including corpses. Thus, we will have the first closed production chain and this is only the beginning.
Now you can fight not only with training holograms!
- A new station has appeared in the star system. It has been attacked by arachnids. So its owner invites everyone to help get rid of this threat and promises a reward for each monster killed.
- The most convenient way to get to the infected station is by your own starship. But if you don’t have enough LFC to buy one, you can use the space bus. This starship regularly shuttles between stations, so just wait until it docks and board it for free.
- The arachnid population is constantly growing due to the queen’s efforts – kill her to stop the invasion.
- We have prepared more types of weapons and armor to make it more interesting to exterminate monsters. Armor is no longer just a visual attribute, it reduces a significant part of the damage.
- To heal your character, you can now use first aid kits, which are sold in stores.
- The ability to attack and loot other players has already been implemented, but is currently disabled. We will activate it in the very near future, as soon as we have completed several testing cycles.
Modernization of stores:
- Thanks to the improvement of the agreement system, purchases in stores began to work much faster.
- It became possible to buy a specific item that is already on a shelf or a mannequin. To do this, just take it, use right-click to open the item description and click on the Purchase button there.
- Now, shop workers can not only sell, but also buy items from players. First of all, you can sell arachnid tails in a specialized shop, so you will receive a reward for killing them. You can also sell items that were legally purchased earlier. If you bought the item (you have ownership rights), the shop will buy it back for almost the full price. If the item was bought by another player, and you received it as a trophy, it can be sold on the black market for a third of its cost. We will unlock these functions, as well as PvP, very soon, after we thoroughly test the current version.
A few more things:
- We have once again spent a lot of time on stabilizing and securing multiplayer interaction. Now the game client is more attentive to being in sync with the server. With the advent of PvP, the stakes have been raised – everything must work extremely reliably.
- We have fixed many bugs and made many features easier to use.
- We have started developing your character’s independent behavior. Now he/she doesn’t stand still when you’re offline. Instead, he/she walks, communicates with other characters, eats, sleeps, etc. In the future, your character will be able to work (as a courier, a salesman, a reborn medic, etc.) while you’re resting.
We are now very close to bringing Supernova Shards to a state that is attractive to new players who have never heard of the game before. A little more testing and the game will allow you to earn LFC by killing monsters and looting other players. We are also going to add an in-game tutorial so that you don’t have to read long posts like this one. When that happens, we will start attracting new players, thus launching a new stage of expanding our community.
In the meantime, we invite you to try the update. Thank you for your support!
